Classy Quotes Wednesday–Goethe

Okay, so I fully admit that I haven’t read much, if any, Goethe. (But I can say it with a cool German accent!)

Today’s quote was just something that made me smile, especially as the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) conference is coming up and I am bummed, yes, BUMMED about not going this year. This is soley because I’ve “met” so many of you cool CBA writers online and I WANT TO MEET YOU IN PERSON!

Okay, enough with my caps and exclamation points! I can’t stop using them!

But this quote isn’t just for my writer friends I don’t get to meet this September. It’s for every one of you loyal blog readers, who encourage me with every attempt I make to get my books published. It’s for every one of you kindred spirits. It’s for all you friends who make me feel we’ll always “pick up right where we left off.” Here we go…

“To know someone here or there with whom you can feel there is understanding in spite of distances or thoughts unexpressed–that can make this life a garden.”–Goethe

****How about you? Are you going to ACFW? Please mention my name to all the editors you see…just kidding. Seriously, I’ll miss seeing you, but I’m praying for all you attendees this year. I hope every one of you have some friends just like this, friends who are are a respite from the harshness of life–like a stroll through a cool garden at twilight.****

  1. Nice post, Heather. I wish I could get to the ACFW Conf. someday. I've been to the Write-to-Publish Conf. in Chicago but not to this one. I've heard it's definitely the one to go to. Nice quote. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Yes, Jennifer, that would be comforting! And Adam, I'd love to know the stuff you learned at that conference! I keep thinking about all the friends I'm going to miss at ACFW, as well as opportunities to meet editors. But I'd forgotten about all the cool stuff I'm NOT going to learn. Agh!

  3. Great quote – I've been blown away with the relationships I've been able to make with people who live hundreds of miles from me. The internet is definitely a great invention!I'm so sorry you won't be able to make it to the conference this year. Hopefully next?

  4. Hi Heather! Beautiful quote, and so true. ๐Ÿ™‚ I'm not able to go this year either, so I'm feeling the disappointment with ya. But I'm reminding myself that God's ways are perfect, and He's doing a much better job of running my life than I could. Maybe next year has our names on it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Yes, Gwendolyn! Glad I'm not alone in my misery! TC, Jennifer, Adam, you and I (and Becky, if you're not going this year?) all need to get it together by next year. If only it weren't sooo expensive! And sooo halfway across the country! Grin. I have to keep reminding myself God's in charge of my life, not me. HARD.
